Wiper Systems
Clear the Rain: Vintage Wiper System Restoration
A functional wiper system is a safety necessity. Whether you are battling a 1940s vacuum system or a 1970s electric setup, parts breakdown causes streaks, stalls, and scratched glass.
System Components At Old Car Parts NW, we stock the entire ecosystem of NOS and NORS Wiper Parts:
-
Blades & Arms: Authentic silver finishes and classic designs.
-
Motors: Vacuum and electric units.
-
Linkage: Transmissions and pivots to transfer motion.
-
Washers: Pumps and jars to clean the glass.
See Clearly, Look Factory: Vintage Wiper Arms & Blades
Nothing ruins the look of a restored vintage car faster than a set of modern, black plastic wiper blades from a gas station. Classic cars were designed with brightwork in mind—stainless steel or silver-painted wipers that complement the chrome trim.
At Old Car Parts NW, we stock authentic NOS (New Old Stock) and NORS (New Old Replacement Stock) wiper components that restore both visibility and factory aesthetics.
The Right Connection
Vintage wiper arms don't use modern "J-Hook" connections. We stock the hard-to-find mounting styles for Trico and Anco systems:
-
Bayonet: The straight blade-end connector common on 1960s cars.
-
Dead-Locker: The pin-style connector found on early models.
-
Saddle & Hook: We have the correct adapters to make them fit.
Restore Your Wipe Pattern
-
Wiper Arms: If your wipers "skip" across the glass or lift off at highway speeds, the tension spring in your arm is worn out. Replace the arm to restore downward pressure.
-
Refills: Don't throw away your original stainless steel blade frames! We stock Rubber Refills (inserts) to slide into your vintage frames for a streak-free wipe.
-
Bezels & Nuts: The chrome hardware that secures the wiper transmission to the cowl.
** Vacuum & Electric: Windshield Wiper Motors**
Is your wiper motor dead, or does it slow down every time you accelerate? We cover both eras of wiper technology.
The Vacuum Era (Pre-1955) We stock rebuilt Trico Vacuum Motors. If your wipers stop when you hit the gas, your motor seals are likely dried out. A fresh unit restores seal integrity.
The Electric Era We carry NOS and NORS Electric Motors (1-speed, 2-speed, and variable) for 12-volt systems.
-
Fitment: Bolt-in replacements for Ford, GM, and Chrysler firewalls.
