Rebuild It Right: Vintage Engine Components & Overhaul Kits
Whether you are refreshing a tired daily driver or performing a full "frame-off" rebuild on a numbers-matching V8, the heart of your project is the engine. At Old Car Parts NW, we specialize in NOS (New Old Stock) and NORS (New Old Replacement Stock) internal engine parts that meet or exceed original factory specifications.
The NOS and NORS Advantage Don't trust your engine to cheap "white box" offshore parts. Our inventory features high-quality USA-made components from legendary brands like Sealed Power, TRW, McCord, and Perfect Circle.
-
Bottom End: Bearings, Pistons, and Oil Pumps to restore oil pressure and compression.
-
Top End: Valves, Lifters, and Camshafts to bring back the power.
-
Sealing: Complete gasket sets to stop the leaks.
The Heart of the Rebuild: NOS Internal Engine Parts
When you are rebuilding a vintage engine, "close enough" tolerances lead to failure. You need components that match the original metallurgy and weight of the factory design. At Old Car Parts NW, we specialize in NOS (New Old Stock) and NORS internal engine parts from the golden era of American manufacturing.
Build It to Last
-
Pistons & Rings: We stock authentic Sealed Power, TRW, and Sterling pistons. Unlike cheap modern castings, these often feature the correct alloy composition for vintage block expansion rates.
-
Camshafts: Restore your power band with NOS cams and lifters that are precision-ground to factory lift and duration specs.
-
Bearings: Protect your crank with Clevite 77 and Federal Mogul Tri-Metal bearings, the industry standard for durability.
Protect Your Investment: NOS Oil Pumps & Filters
Oil pressure is the lifeblood of your engine. A worn pump or a clogged filter spells disaster for your bearings.
Vintage Lubrication Solutions
-
NOS Oil Pumps: We stock high-quality Melling and Sealed Power pumps. Unlike some modern castings which can be porous, these NOS units are machined to strict tolerances for consistent pressure.
-
Filtration: We carry the correct Cannister/Cartridge Filters (AC P-Series, Fram C-Series) for engines that haven't been converted to spin-on filters.
-
Monitoring: Keep an eye on your vitals with NOS Oil Pressure Senders that are calibrated correctly for vintage gauges.
Seal It Tight: NOS Engine Gasket Sets
Leaking oil and coolant is not "character"—it's a problem. Old cork gaskets shrink, and cheap modern paper gaskets blow out. The solution? Authentic NOS (New Old Stock) Gasket Sets.
The Vintage Gasket Advantage We stock complete sets and individual seals from legendary brands like Fel-Pro, McCord, and Victor.
-
Head Gaskets: Steel shim and composite gaskets designed for the specific clamping force of vintage head bolts.
-
Valve Covers: Thick cork and rubber/cork blends that seal warped sheet metal covers better than thin paper.
-
Rear Main Seals: Hard-to-find Rope Seals for early engines and Neoprene upgrades for later blocks.
Drive Without Slip: NOS V-Belts & Steel Pulleys
A squealing belt ruins the sound of a running engine. On vintage cars, using the correct belt width and angle is critical for grip.
The Right Fit
-
NOS V-Belts: Modern "metric" belts often sit too deep in vintage pulleys. We stock NOS Gates and Dayco V-Belts with the correct top width (3/8", 1/2", etc.) to ride high in the groove and drive your accessories without slipping.
-
Pulleys: Bent or rusted pulleys chew up belts. We stock replacement Crank, Water Pump, and Generator Pulleys to keep your belt alignment true.
Stop the Vibration: NOS Motor & Trans Mounts
If your engine jumps when you rev it, or you feel a harsh vibration through the seat, your mounts have separated. Vintage mounts use a rubber insulator bonded to steel plates.
Why NOS Rubber? Many restorers find that modern reproduction mounts use "hard" rubber or polyurethane that transmits too much vibration.
-
Factory Feel: Our NOS (New Old Stock) and NORS mounts (often Anchor or Marmon) use the correct rubber durometer to absorb engine harmonics while keeping the drivetrain secure.
-
Safety: Many of our mounts feature the original interlocking safety tabs that prevent the engine from lifting off the frame if the rubber fails—a critical safety feature often missing on cheap imports.
Pass the Test: Vintage Emissions & Smog Parts
By the late 1960s, the "Smog Era" had begun. Today, many vintage cars still require functional emissions equipment to pass state inspections or simply to run correctly. Removing these parts often leads to poor drivability, knocking, and fuel smells.
Restore Factory Function At Old Car Parts NW, we stock hard-to-find NOS (New Old Stock) and NORS (New Old Replacement Stock) emissions components to keep your classic compliant and running smooth.
-
Vacuum Controls: The complex web of valves and switches that control spark advance.
-
Vapor Recovery: Charcoal canisters to stop garage fuel smells.
-
Exhaust Gas: EGR valves to lower combustion temperatures and prevent pinging.
The Finishing Touches: Freeze Plugs, Paints & Misc Engine Parts
Every engine build requires the small stuff that doesn't fit into a major category. This is where you find the essential hardware to finish the job.
Misc Inventory:
-
Freeze Plugs (Expansion Plugs): Brass or steel plug kits to replace rusted core plugs. Always use Brass for marine or long-term storage!
-
Woodruff Keys: For crank and cam snouts.
-
Engine Enamel: High-heat paints in factory-correct colors (Chevy Orange, Ford Blue, Pontiac Blue).
-
Fasteners: Head bolts, manifold studs, and oil pan bolt kits.
