Delco Appliance (Motors)

The Power Behind the Accessories: NOS Delco Appliance Motors

While Delco-Remy is famous for starting your engine, the Delco Appliance Division (based in Rochester, NY) was responsible for the creature comforts inside the cabin. From the 1930s through the 1970s, Delco Appliance manufactured the robust, small electric motors that powered heaters, defrosters, windshield wipers, and power seats for General Motors.

At Old Car Parts NW, we stock rare NOS (New Old Stock) and NORS motors from this legendary division.

Why "Delco Appliance" Matters

  • Rochester Provenance: Serious GM collectors look for the specific "Delco Appliance - Rochester NY" tag on the motor housing. These are the authentic units required for a 100-point restoration.

  • 6-Volt & 12-Volt: Finding a working 6-volt heater motor for a 1940s Chevy or Buick is nearly impossible at a standard parts store. We carry these hard-to-find voltages.

  • Specific Mounting: Unlike generic "universal" motors that require hacking up your firewall or heater box, these NOS units feature the correct shaft lengths, mounting studs, and connectors for Chevrolet, Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Buick, and Cadillac.

Our Inventory Includes:

  • Heater & Defroster Motors: Restore powerful airflow to your cabin.

  • Windshield Wiper Motors: Replace sluggish or dead vacuum/electric wiper units.

  • Power Accessory Motors: Hard-to-find motors for power windows, seats, and convertible tops.
